Pom Klementieff is very likely to return in Mission Impossible 8

Renowned for her role as the quirky and funny character Mantis in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, French actress Pom Klementieff has managed to secure notable Hollywood projects ever since with Mission Impossible being no exception. Based on the continuation of the 1966 TV show by Bruce Geller, Mission Impossible is known today for its high-stakes original stunts by Tom Cruise in prime and exotic locations all over the world. Without a doubt, this omnipresent action element led by Cruise is one of the signature traits of the Mission Impossible film series and the reason behind its ability to rake in millions from worldwide box office with sequels ballooning every year.

Interestingly, many beautiful and talented actresses from the likes of Emmanuelle Béart, Thandiwe Newton, Léa Seydoux, and Angela Bassett have been a part of Mission Impossible, be it a leading or supporting role. This time, Pom Klementieff was a fresh addition to Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning Part One where she made her debut as Paris, a crucial character in the film rather than just being a villain’s beautiful deadly henchman considering how her character arc shifts by the end of the movie. So, getting back to the main question without beating the bush, let’s address the burning question of whether Klementieff will be returning as Paris in Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part 2.

Paris knows more about the ‘Entity’ and Gabriel’s plans

In Mission: Impossible- Dead Reckoning, Klementieff plays the role of Paris, an operative working for AN A.I. called Entity and arms dealer Gabriel. While audiences are not provided any backdrop of her character in the film, it’s obvious through the chase sequence between Pom’s character and Tom Cruise alongside Hayley Atwell, that Paris is one heck of a skilled, fierce fighter with a touch of craziness. After all, just look at the shot below of Pom Klementieff’s expression in the movie when her character rampages through the streets of Rome in an Iveco LMV vehicle chasing after a tiny Fiat 500.

However, towards the second half of Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning this cat and mouse chase between Paris and Ethan is atleast over after Cruise’s character spares her life during a confrontation. So, as per the precise calculations of the main villian of the film i.e. rogue A.I. known as Entity, Pom’s character is almost killed by Garbiel as the entity suspects she would betray them. Wounded Paris manages to save the life of both Ethan and Grace by the end of part one. Interestingly, Paris’s reveal to Ethan about the source code of the Entity in Sevastopol sets the build up for Mission Impossible 8 plot as our agent is now certainly in the quest for the key that gives access to the source code of the dangerous A.I. villain of Mission Impossible franchise.

But, while this synopsis involving Ethan’s hunt for the key and disintegration of Entity is official for next installment of upcoming Mission Impossible, there will obviously be many things going on in the final movie. Cruise’s character Ethan will need help of Paris for apparent reason and the first being that she does know how Gabriel started out as the mediator for the Entity and the plans he has. We still don’t have an idea about how the Entity can be controlled even after having access to all the keys and if you’re guessing how can Paris have so much access to many information possessed by Gabriel, let me remind you again that he tried to kill Paris under the direction of Entity. So, this is an underlooked facts that even Entity didn’t want Paris alive afterwards as she had information that could help Ethan in getting access to its source code.

Likewise, another sign of why Pom Klementieff will be returning in Mission Impossible part 8 is for a simple fact that her character was only injured as she was only wounded when Gabriel tried to kill her in haste. Paris even managed to save Ethan from falling trian deck so that pretty much sums up why her character has managed to survive. I bet many of us assumed that Klementieff’s character died after she tells Ethan about whereabouts of the ‘key’ and Gabriels plan since she closes her eyes after that and its a easy to notice that she just lost consiousness.

If the makers wanted her character dead, Paris would have died with her eyes open, which is usually the case in real life as well. So, that’s it folks, be rest assured that Pom Klementieff will return for Mission Impossible 8 and infact, she’ll make a comeback by performing some interesting stunts on her own as my speculation based on the interviews and clues. Wondering how? Well, I shall present you all the exclusive details on the filming and pre-production of Mission Impossible 8 while we wait for its release on May, 2025.
